Democratic Governance And Primary Healthcare Funding In Central Senatorial District Of Cross River State, Nigeria

Healthcare services at the primary level are key to the health care provision of the Federal government in Nigeria, hence the thesis of this study dwells on democratic governance and primary health care service financing in Nigeria: A case of central senatorial district of Cross River State. The study explored the survey method to elicit information from respondents to address meet the objective of the study, while analysis was done using the five-point Liker scale with the aid of SPSS. Outcome indicated that, the Nigerian government provides adequate financing for primary health care services for the communities, however, poor management affects PHC service delivery and accountability. Based on this premise the following recommendations where arrived at; authorities in Nigeria should put mechanism in place that encourages fiscal discipline and sanctions for corrupt practices. This will mitigate the poor management of funds allocated to the Primary Health Care Service Delivery, not only in Cross Rive State Central Senatorial District but the country at large.
